250lt Green Terror tank??

What are some good schooling fish choices to go with a GT? Tiger barbs? Gold barbs? Black skirt tetras?
I keep Brochis splendens and hoplo catfish with mine without issue.
I tried bleeding hearts once but they began to get eaten.

I'm in the UK and salvini seem quite common by me.

A breeding pair would be my choice for this tank. They would be very active, interactive and amazing colors.
Most people say they hide and are shy, but I've never had that experience. Mine knows who feeds her lol.

The GT and tetras would be my choice.

The 2nd choice will make your tank overstocked when the fish are fully grown.

I'm from the UK, i don't remember ever seeing Salvini's for sale in my LFS's, but i've seen a few on the Facebook for sale groups.
If your interested in salvini look up lincs fish on Facebook, he does post and imports most of his stock from Coa and Jeff rapps

My gt male got to 9 inches in two years females around 5.
My fish breed a lot, that means growth would be slower than a single fish without a mate.
I think mine are still growing but slowly.
I would expect a solo gt to reach full size in two years assuming your starting with a two inch fish.
Regularity of feedings and water changes will also influence growth speed.

Disagree slightly with Stanzzzz7, fish grow through there entire lives and although growth slows dramatically as they get older I think a 2/3 year old fish still has a bit of noticeable growth left in it. So a 2/3 inch juvi gt in good conditions should hit about 9/10 inch in 2 years and possibly up to 11/12 inch in 5 years, at the 5 year point I don't think you will notice much growth beyond that.

I have yet to see a Gt over 10 inches that is why I think they almost reach their maximum within 2 years.
Agree with Dan about full growth taking a few years for most cichlids though.

Seen one in the flesh at 12 inch, sadly don't see that many cichlids over 5 years old of any species, I bet on this forum there is only about 20% of members with fish over 5 years old.
