You should pick up like 3 or 4 Cichla (monos, tems, orinos, whatever) and let them grow out and live in that tank for life. Will provide lots of entertainment and IMO more interesting than the other cichlids mentioned. A glimpse into the world of a true piscivore.

well it turns out i can make the tank 4 feet long for the same price so now its around 324 gallons and i was thinking of doing cichlda but whats a good number and good species the orinos seem not that good of collored but i like the species w the red gill area and the large bump on the forehead, also whats a good site i can order them from

quetzal (synspilum) males are beastly and will be king of everything in that tank

Did you mean 4 feet longer? Or 4 feet long? What are the dimensions of a 4 foot tank with over 300 gallons?:)

haha wide, its 6 feet long, by 2 feet high, by 4 feet wide. and it comes out to be about 344 gallons w a 2in sandbed, so if i did get some pbass what is the type with the noctural bump and have the good red colloring

not sure about the red gill coloring but cichla monoculus do develop the nuchal hump and they also get the black mohawk (dorsal fin). They are also not that hard to find. Look on Jeff Rapps site or Aquabid. G'luck
