i just got a 25gal tank and i think im leaning towards making it into a saltwater tank but i never done a saltwater so what would i need? what could i stock the tank with?

I'd sell it and get a 30 or 50gal haha, I find the options for tanks under 50 gal are so limited haha, as so many of the nicest fish get so big. But if you want to go with the 25gal what where you looking for? reef? fish? comunity? inverts? etc. Give us a general idea as to what your looking for so we can suggest better, like if you were looking at someone elses tank what do you like most?

I dont want to discourage you from going salt because salt is incredibly interesting, but having previously kept a 10 gallon salt, I dont recommend your first salt experience be in a 25 gallon. You may end up working yourself so hard that you become irritated and abandon it all together.

i been keeping fish for years so i want to give salt a try, but i dont really know what i would want to do? i just pick this tank up cheap and trying to get ideas on what to do. the tank is 36L h16 w10 so what could i put in it?

Gobies, I think one veriety of clown would be fine in this... cant think which off the top of my head ocelleris probs, blennies, dartfish, one or 2 verieties of cardinals, a Swales Swissguard Basslet would be ok... umm... dottybacks, dragonets, hawkfish, that covers all I can think of.
Yes kinda contradictory to what I said earlier, but that was more about quantiy/space, as the next tank I'm setting up is going to be huge/have rediculus veriety so anything under 100gal is sadly limited in my books lol. Though my tanks are also reefs, so there is huge amounts of space taken up by corals as well so bigger is nessecity for swim room.

i think its best to start small but not too small and if i like keeping salt then get a bigger tank since i still would love to keep a shark tank. so how many fish could i keep in this tank? i want to make a FOWLR if you guys could make a few stocking ideas that would be great then i could go down to the store and see what they stock.

Kevin pretty much covered what would make stock for a 25, although, I would stay away from manderins and scooters. I think (3) 2-3 inch fish would be a safe number in a 25gal fowlr.

ya i was asking out of the fish he name which can be out together? and how many of them could i keep? also for a fowlr what else would i need for the setup like equipment?

I agree, I ment they can be kept in a tank like that (mature tank with good copepod population), but its true that its better not to due to their picky dietary needs.

I'm not sure about how many to be honnest... I tend to understock... being towards low I would say 3 or 4 3" fish... but with good really good biofiltration you could likely do more... the problem is marine fish are a bit more sensitive to water conditions then freshies. But I think someone with more experience with small tanks would be better suited to answer that one haha.
