it seems if you wanted to you could add a pred. try a needlenosed gar. it would be able to kill off some of your roseys but not enough to make that big of a deal with the population. how are yu fendinig off the the birds and cats? seems like they would be all over this. keep up the good work

I'm not worried about the roseys... yet. It seems the birds are scared to get wet(in order to get the fish) but I have to chase them off the ring all the time. No cats yet.

show us the filtration system please!

Nothing fancy just a fountain pump, then the second one I'm having trouble with is the same except bigger with a UV.

u should try a white albino channel cat or 2.
spotted gars are good for ponds they really don't bug the other fish if they eat pellets well at least mine doesn't

Here's an earlier statement I made:

My issue is over, woke to find my pool pond drained. the ring cracked...there's about 6 inches at the deepest point. I'm through.

I'm going to move the fish to the 55 gallon short term. Then over the next few weeks get rid of them.

I also set up a few tubs to spread the load. I found out that it still has alot of water in it(maybe 10 inches, which was about 1500 gallons still. I stopped the auto drain and am now doing a controlled drain. It's taking forever. All the fish are still in it.

The Sun(summer) dried the ring but a cold front came in last night (42 degrees and cracked the ring causing the collapse. When I touch the ring it broke and left a hole in it(seen in a pic below).

Also by the flowerpot(an 8 inch flower pot) you can see a mound of crap. it's about 3 feet long x 2 feet wide and about 4-6 inches deep. I'm thinking this was why my water was cloudy. The UV pump was blowing in that direction.

I got lucky the UV pump survived the dry run as it was on top of the milk crate(see photos) that was exposed to air for who knows how long. It's running right now in the blue tub(see photos).

My wife has a friend with a pond so they will get first dibs on the Koi, if not... anyone here that lives in Austin can have 3 free Koi. The biggest is 10-12inches, the other 2 are about 8 inches.

Well... I'm finished. I am worn out. 4 hours of chasing fish and pulling on the pool. Fish didn't look good as they were swimming in gunk.

I found 1 pleco out of 6 and he grew in 3 months from 1.5 inches to 6 inches in 3 months.

I don't know about the Goldfish but I know I lost alot of Roseys(I guess no big deal). I even found fry in the pond(I'm guessing Roseys).

Once I get rid of the fish... I'm done with ponds.

I am sad to hear that this happened to you I am trying the same exact thing you did do you have any advise for me?

Do not let the ring get in the sunlight else it will dry up and become brittle. If I was to do it again, I'd use the ones with the metal frames
