265 gallon South American in-the-wall build thread

Got my QT tanks set up. Double stacked 20s.



I've got 30 lemon tetras in one of them now and another 25 coming this week.



Also picked up this 110 gallon to hold my water change water.

 
Can I ask how your interfaced your stand with the wall itself? Does the tank go all the way through the wall and the normal 2x4s that run through the wall are part of the stand?

It looks really clean the way you did it. I like the frame too.

I got a used 110 gallon and plumbed it into the cold water line of my house with a float valve. It'll fill up and then I'll treat it and heat it. Then I'll drain the main tank down 100 gallons then open a valve on the 110 and fill the 265 back up.





Also picked up a group of 3 electric blue acara

I built the wall around the factory stand. The wall is flush with the stand. The tank is set back about 1.5" from the wall.

That 1.5 inches is a shelf for your beer :beer:
