265g mythbuster? (with glass cleaning recommendation)

very nice tank there. you also mentioned the door and the door looks more white through the glass. sure you not using the invisible glass on the door?:)

tank looks great. I use Invisible Glass, too. I have found, though, that if it sits for long enough, it will quit working well. I'm not sure what I would say the shelf life would be, but probably a year or more.

with how bad it was moving a 210 up and down basement stairs, my 300 wide is going to have to be acrylic, but I wish that wasn't the case.

I'm glad it worked out for ya!

"Turnover rate:
The flow on this tank is enough to turn it over about 2.5x per hour. The ammonia levels never spike (I've tested it at several different intervals after feeding and throughout the day). Over filtration is not necessary on this tank. This is filtered by 1 wet/dry with what's considered to be minimal amounts of bio media. (about 8g of bioballs)

Mechanical filtration:
I've read a lot about wet/dry filters having bad mechanical filtration abilities. Even at 2.5x turn over I've never had a problem with discolored water/floating particles."

dont want to be picky, but only because u r keeping too few, in fact, 2.5 turnover is far from enuff if u stock more fish..

Too few what? This tank is really fairly heavily stocked.

The main argument about high turnover rate is related to mechanical filtration rather than biological. Feel free to give me all of your opinions of why I'm wrong, but I'll post pictures and test results of what is working.

The proof is in the pudding.

haha, your tank is very nice and clean, i like it very much.bro
but your understanding about "heavy stock" is much different from mine, i'm not kidding, the average stock density of my tanks is about three times of your 265g...
the list of one of my 80g tank for example:
1 rtg(15''), 1 poly. congicus(20''), 1 poly. weeksii(18''), 1 poly. lap(12''), 2 poly. onate(11''), 1 poly. delhezi(12''), 2 small poly.(8''), 1 hystrix stingray(7''), 1 cichla(10''), 1 dat(12''), 1 pike cincta(10'', killed by rtg last week...) haha, and another 1 wild guinea poly endli(12'') and 1 poly. koloton(13'') will be in this 80g next week, i call this kind of tank "heavy stock". my other tanks stock as heavy as the 80g. so the turnover is about 8-10 in all of my tanks...

Tank looks fantastic rally....what do you use for mech filtration? I use a bonded filter pad sitting on the drip tray in my w/d but I'm not that happy with it.
