well, not easy to give a positive Id when people are dealing with many variants and species also WC and Farmed, most Peacock bass at an juvenile age look pretty much the same as others, ie Mono, Ocell, or Kelberi. Thats why there is so much controversy and fun in IDing Pbass. Not as easy as IDing Parachromis (dovii) my friend, not as easy. :D those some times we wish it was ;).

in my opinion i dont think that WC vs. Farmed sets 2 of the same cichla appart in variants, so to say, i do think though variation can be found in small populations of the same species or seperated species due to geological/natrual speration over a long period of time. small cichla are hard to ID and ive been told that if somone calls a id out on a smaller cichla 99.9% of the time they are wrong (.1% is if they bred the fish) but other then that they are not easy. however, this image is questionable but it isnt small. it can be ID'd scat says it isnt, the website says it is, i dont doubt either one of them but somone is wrong. either way it doesnt matter but you never know.

in no way do i direct this to anyone i respect all opinons with or against me because ideas are the foundations to new discoveries.
