27 gallon goldfish tank

That's what's forum's are for! Also I'm quite sure you don't know how big an inch is...... because you usually get them at 2-3" and they can grow 4-5" it is a gorgeous tank might I add. It looks great but since everyone else is giving advice or criticism depending on how you take it id turn the temperature up since rubber lips are south American and live In tropical waters and gold fish are cold. They really shouldn't be mixed but gold ffish can tolerate much warmer temps :) again no hate I like the setup just my advice take it or leave it up too you.

I dont recall u being part of the previous convo and i dont think the pleco will exceed a couple inches in that setup, ive had 3 rubber mouth plecos, they grow incredibly slow if at all.

Im trying to be an optimistic guy about this setup, im sure theres other threads u can troll and criticize better!!!

I was trying to bring this thread back to a postitive state after the last guy, and if u couldnt see that then idk.....

Goodluck with that

And he obviously doesnt have a heater given a 70 degree ambient temp and the given picture. Great advice tho

If it works for him then perfect

Man theres ALWAYS one guy who has to ruin it, dont worry a single goldfish thats already stunted is fine in ur tank and the rubber lip pleco hardly gets an inch, imo your fine just do what the other helpful comments suggested w/ changing water, cool tank.

And watch out for the haters here, if u had a 120 gal ud still get criticized!

Goodluck man.

Also id recommend some ghost or cherry shrimp, there cheap and awesome and stay small.

Thanks! my rubberlip is actually around 2 inches now. I have actually been thinking about getting a couple ghost shrimp.

Thanks! I'm fine with taking criticism as long as it's coming from someone who knows what they're talking about. I do not have a heater in this tank it sits at whatever temp the house is. It will probably go up to about 74-75 this summer as it starts warming up here.

Nice tank, the rubber lip is gorgeous. You will need to take out the gold ribbon plants. I had some and they just rotted away. They are only supposed to have them in partially submerged water. Also don't buy ghost shrimp because goldfish will kill them and even eat them. Nice goldfish as well

Sorry haven't done much for updates! Everything's doing pretty good. I'm down to only 7 white cloud mountain minnows out of 11. Not sure what happened, one morning 3 were belly up. Once the remaining 8 were removed from the breeding net one disappeared (I'm thinking my goldfish had a snack) and I added 2 kuhli loaches this week. I hope I haven't overstocked the tank. The temp is up to 74 degrees. I've noticed my goldfish has a white bump on his head, not sure what it could be. Any ideas whats wrong?

Hey thanks! I'm going to wait and see what the gold ribbons do, I don't think they've started rotting yet. I'll probably replace them with amazon swords eventually.

Don't worry about the rubberlip pleco because they are not from warm water they prefer cool water just because a fish is from south america doesn't mean it is from warm water. South America is a varied place with different elevations and temperature ranges and rubberlips are located in waters where snow has melted and flows down the mountains. Make sure you are checking your water parameters each week to know when to change your water.

sweet setup! Rubber lip pleco's a good idea, I got myself a common pleco for my 40 gallon and sooner or later (probably sooner) I'm gonna have to get a bigger tank or find him a new home.
looks awesome though! Healthy looking goldfish fr being stunted :)
