  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hi All,

Wel thanks for the replies just to let you know the lid for the cabinet is made of wood and the cabinet sides come all the way to the top and attach to the lid section which also has a 2" x 4" for so there is absolutely no way it would be able to jump out but if it jump the lights are my concern, alos what about the glass brace bars at the top of the tank.

Dan

oh and as for dimensions the tank is 6ft W x 3ft D x 2ft 6 H

Hi,

I have been offered a 27" Silver Arowana for free, I have the necesary sixe tank to house this mighty fish but I do have some questions.

1, How the hell do I get a 27" Aro Home???

2, My Light tubes are exposed would a jump from this break them as there is no chance of it being able to jump out of the tank???

My tank is 200 US Gal and filtered by 2 external 130 US Gal filters.

3, If the aro was the only fish in this tank would I be able to take one of the filter off???

Would greately appreciate your input ppl.

Thanks

Dan & Vicky

1. try using a large coleman tank(the uses in camping or picnics). or try the trash bag and fill it up w/ water and O2.

2. that will worry me much, i had a silver aro atleast 18" died in a water kamikaze(flying and falling in the floor). so u must secure ur lid., get some screen and cover yr entire lid, and weight it by a glass and wight glass w/ some heavy objects(e.g books, aquarium light etc.)

3.if i were u ill use booth filters to ensure that the water is circulating well.

thats all bro, gud luk to your new mate.

I'd like some more detail on your filtration. Some say to use both, but with a (filter) tank that large, I cant imagine that you'll be any better off. A point comes where you're just wasting power.

if your tank is 6ft L 3ft W and 2 1/2ft H it is over 200gallons...my tank is 5x3x25"(LxWxH) and is just under 235gallons

but if the tank is only 200 gallons eventually the aro will need another tank

Dan get that monster home and get your camera snapping!
The tank is big enough, filtration is okay (as long as he is alone), he can not jump out, and you are getting this beast for free!

Well people thanks for all the great coments however on making the final arrangements to go and get this beast the owner decided that he will only let him go to a public aquaria. More like the guy realised I'm only 27 and prob thiks i cant look after him. Oh well I still got my jardini that I picked up on thursday & a 9" dragon goby

Cheers all

Oh and I say 200 us G as this gives me extra to play with.
