Sorry I have no idea what your talking about. How to you run a stand pipe when the bulkheads are on the bottom in the middle of the tank? I no longer have an overflow so I dont understand how this would work. please advise!!!

If anyone has a setup even slightly resembling mine. Will you please upload some pictures or send me a link so I could get some ideas. Been browsing for days and cant seem to find much!

Nice Tank!

In regards to the leaks on the threaded fittings, as others have mentiond, pipe dope will take care of that (I've had good results using Rector Seal 5 and it's sold at most any hardware store, including big chains like Lowes or Home Depot). It's the consistency of toothpaste and it hardens up a bit as it dries. It's rated for potable water use, so it's not going to harm your fish.

In regards to your bulkhead leak, can you tell whether or not it's leaking from the gasket or from the threaded fitting? If it's leaking from the threaded connection, slap on a bunch of the Rector Seal 5 and it'll plug that right up. Those look like the beefy schdule 80 bulkhead fittings, so I'd be surprised to hear they are leaking from the gasket.

Good luck!

When you stick a pipe into the bulkhead it becomes a over flow pipe/standpipe, as long as it sticks up past the surface no water will enter it. You are basically extending the bulkhead from the bottom of the tank to up above the waterline. At this point you can now work below the tank without having to drain it as long as the leak is actually coming from your fittings and not the bulkhead itself.

Hope this is a little easier to understand.
