Thank you. I’ve found them to be quite nice. They certainly aren’t pushovers, with my large one in my big tank being the boss over the larger intermedia.

They make great cleaners constantly rasping algae and the biofilm from surfaces keeping them clean. Mine haven’t molested any plants though they are known to nibble on softer leaved plants and new shoots.

They are active, not overly aggressive, and once you get past their tinfoil barb-esque look, they’re quite nice looking.

They are known to exhibit high conspecific aggression so I’ve kept my two separated. Others have several together without issue. They grow very fast and can keep up with bass growth rates.

Overall, I like them and highly recommend them as an alternative to Plecos for algae control.
