Mynes galvanised steel as well but it has been runing for yrs with small koi that have died out. I live about 10 min from Miami, still think it needs to be heated???
I hope not i beleiev these two are a pair and i would love to breen them one day.

You can use a heater on cold nights also.. FInding a way to wrap it with insulation and covering it on cold nights will help. Also .. Check in outdoor ponds .. DrJoe has put out some great DIY solar heating.

I lost 1 oscar and 2 pacu's when the temp didnt get out of the 60's and the heater quit working. Not wrapped .. Not covered NO solar heated ...
