really? Guess my gourami is different. He doesn't have that great of damage potential, but he attacks and attacks and attacks newcomers.Gouramis and aggressive cichlids cannot mix. Cichlids would tear the gourami apart.
I have a blue/opaline gourami in a 60 gallon. Close relative to gold and care/behavior is the same I got 2 and it killed the other. As far as aggression goes it is harmless. Might take a swipe at something but has not done any damage. Even my severum is worse (and my severum is harmless, had to be moved because it wouldn’t even fight back while being harassed). Gold gourami would be fine, just limit the top dwellers to only it, as they can be territorial.
Might be a dominance thing if it was there first. Mine has always known competitors and was never on top.really? Guess my gourami is different. He doesn't have that great of damage potential, but he attacks and attacks and attacks newcomers.
