I currently own a 29Gallon Freshwater fish with a variety of freshwater aggressives. The tank is merely a month old, yet I made a dumb mistake, I wanted saltwater and once I saw this site and how fairly the steps to getting a saltwater tank were, I'm convinced. Once these fish die out (a good 14 fish) I plan to start a Saltwater.

Now i have all the crappy stock stuff that comes with one of those 29gallon kits. Aqueon 30 filter, 29gallon heater, stock light bulb. Also have alittle 10gallon air bubbler at the other side of tank.

So can someone PLEASE give me a complete list of each part i will never to start my own 29 salt. - everything down to specs please (ex: what sand, how much, what filter, lights, heaters, rocks, EVERYTHING). The reason i wanna know the whole list is because i need to buy everything little by little considering how expensive the items are, i heard setting a saltwater up is a whole in your wallet so I want to be ready before these fish even pass.

I really want help from you guys so please leave me some good wisdom! Thanks, Ant.

Thanks that did actually help but like i asked, i want someone to give me a very very specific list of what they think i should use, like exact names to a filter they used and is good or exact names to the sand i need etc.

In other words you want someone else to do all the research, all the trial and error, etc, etc...

The problem with that though is you do not benefit from the actual education gained through the research... the trial and error... etc...

Get out there and read man...

I agree, that liveaquaria website has all types of sand, lights, filters and it explains them all, plus no one knows what u like better then u, or your price range.. we could make a list for a multi thousand dollar setup even on a 29 gallon so, u should do ur research and you know ur budget better than any of us so look at what u can afford.. Good luck after ur research let us know if u have anymore ?'s..:D

But like i said im new to the SW thing i honestly dont know what i even need to buy

My idea of what i need is something called a skimer, a fluval 205, maybe a better light, and maybe a better heater, thats all i can tell u thats why i asked, idk what sand or rocks or anything =/

first thing is welcome to the saltwater side of the hobby and the next thing is take $17.00 and buy this book. 70 pages long and you'll know all the proper thing's needed to maintain a SW tank and equipment questions etc... And, anytime you need advice please PM me anytime.

Thank you! I was moving down the page to say that. But I am not quite as cunning of a linguist so I will just stand behind your comment as I hate posts like these.

+1 :headbang2

Oh and OP are you sure you want to switch to saltwater? I mean you said that you discovered it is an easy transition yet you don't seem to know which direction to face.... I am not trying to demean your character I am just saying if you thought it would be easy to keep a 29 gallon SW compared to freshwater it would be an easy task. I did so when I was 12 once again I mean no offense I will even help you out with anything you need just shoot me a PM because I don't see this thread heading anywhere productive really.
