I'm thinking about converting my 29 gallon into an african tank. how many can i fit in there? i think i will be going along the lines of P. socolofi and L. careuleus...just simple stuff like that. how many do you think i could fit in there? i am thinking 2 socolofi, 1 careuleus, and 1 of something else like a red zebra, kenyi, or maybe a demisoni? everyones opinions are welcomed. thankyou in advanced...(oh and yes this will be their permanent home and thats why i am asking instead of just going along with it)

In one of my 29 gal I have 2 Africans a yellow lab 5 inch and one that is pink 4 inch I don't know the name of that one, any ways they seem to be doing okay. But I plan to get rid of them because I think the tank is too small for them.

stick with small mbuna like demasoni, that will be your best bet.

no too small get shellies or brichardi or something. maybe 1m 6f demasoni might work ?

that tank is too small for any mbuna (malawi's) like labs, kenyis and demasonis. you need to go with shellies or dwarf types like german rams. a kenyi would go on a killing rampage-my 90 gallon was too small for just one of those sob's.

I keep 3 mbuna in a 29 and have ZERO problems.
