The tanks a wee bit small for piranha footprint wise. Even with just one it wouldn't be able to turn around plus putting an extermly shy fish in a work envoroment just seems cruel and unusual.

u could be right. piranha may be a bad idea for a 30.

i thought about moving my 3 clown loaches from my 125 but i think a 30 is too small for them, they are about 3" right now.

here is a funny story at lfs. i told him what i was doing and asked him if he had anything in mind for stock. he had a few good suggestions. i saw a really nice freshwater lobster i was interested in. about 4" . he warned me that u need to house only aggressive larger fish with it.. i said seems right. in the same tank was a baby p-bass. he said u could get that and the lobster. i replied "u want me to put a p-bass in a 30gallon,for how long 2 months" :D it looked like it was a
Cichla monoculus "Diamante Lake".

decided to a cichid tank. 3-small geo dicrozosters and 2- cryptohero nanoluteus.

the geos should max out around 6" and the nanos at 4"

I still think the puffers are the best idea. I love how they swim up to the glass. Such personalities! Everyone at the office would be intrigued. Just my opinion. Good luck with the stock!
