29g breeding catfish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
How about farlowella? IT can take time to them to reach maturity and to keep them alive they need LOTS of algae and you wouldn't have trouble selling them. You could also try laser, albino sterbai or Agassizii corys.

Thanks for all the info! I agree, I should get my feet wet first. The only thing that I’ve had breed is my julies like 2 weeks ago. I like peppered more than bronze so I might do peppered. I was looking for a challenge but I tho k your right I should start small and work my way up pretty much
Get your feet wet first. Believe it or not I have never really bred any fish, just shrimp. I never really kept species that bred well in my setups without intervention. Start small and go from there

Yeah I have an idea with a planted 29g and breeding peppered Cory cats. Sound good?
Sound food. They should be easy to sell. Just be aware that you wont make much money.

It's good that you're not looking to make a profit, those that go into breeding with the mindset of "I'm going to make enough money to pay for everything I have spent and then make a profit" tend to get out of the hobby when they fail.

You ever thought about breeding lake Malawi cichlids ? Pretty easy. I just breed a pair a couple months ago. The baby’s are now juveniles ? they are 2-3” I even had a strange color morph on 1 fish which I will post this evening. And not to mention I just pulled about 30 fry from another female 3 days ago, a smaller batch then usual but that’s alright.
I’m not sure if it’s the proper way but the way I collect the babies is I take a Q tip and remove the swab on one end, grab a 5 gallon bucket fill it up with water from the tank, catch the female and I hold her upside down with the tip of the Q tip just in her mouth enough to hold it open, and I continuously dunk her in n out of the water. The fry just flood out of her mouth into the bucket and into there own tank where I then smash the pellet food into smaller portions and feed them. I half to do it this way because I have many fish in my tank that just happen to love eating babies ? if I had another tank I’d probably do things differently with breeding.
