Im not sure if 3 different species of cichlids will work in a 29g, dwarf or not. My male A. Cacatuoide dominated his 20gal, I doubt putting another dwarf cichlid in would help the situation. But you can try putting MAYBE 2 dwarf cichlids in there as juvies and they MAY get along. It all depends on the individual fish....
I say stick to a single individual or a pair as your centerpiece and stock gently around them.
The only way i could see you pulling this off is if you got maybe only a male caccatoide and a male ram. If the possibility of breeding is out of the picture then they might be able to work out together.
Im thinking about starting a 29g cichlid tank, and was wondering what kind i could keep in a tank of that size? Atm in looking in to Fire mouth's ,yellow lab's, Electric Yellow's, Blue Johanni's, Demasoni's, Red Zebra's, and Red Parrot's. Ive never had cichlid's and i realy don't know much about them.
I've never personally kept a cichlid tank but I have a festivum in my planted community tank that's doing well. Also Julie dickfeldi are cute little guys that are supposed to be pretty peaceful but I've never kept them so idk
