29g community stocking ideas

I have a 29 gal tank that is empty and looking for ideas. I only have a petsmart and petco to get fish from, so looking for commonly sold community fish. Thank you for reading and helping

Well my tank before a bad case of ick and fungi consited of 2 loaches that were small, 6 barbs, 2 Corys and 5 harlequin Rasboras.

I have a ctenopoma acutirostre in a 46 right now with a senegal bichir and a african brown knife. and he keeps nipping my abk's tail. would it not nip at angels in a 29?

I wouldent do angels unless you keep only one in there or upgrade in the future. If your looking for s. American you could do microgeophagus ramerizi (I have seen these for sale at petco). Also a school of tetras would look nice. And there is useually a large selection at petco/smart. Also you can find live plants there amazon sword and micro sword are both from s. America and petco useually carries upgraded lighting they also have co2 systems for sale there you could make a nice planted tank. I think I might go the planted route with my in wall. There are loads of opptions out there. I'm a locale freak so all my suggestions would be geographically specific. Good luck.
