I would get a way over sized pump and throttle the output with a ball valve. Get a pump big enough so that when you upgrade their tank and W/D, you don't have to upgrade your pump.
ok, petsmart huh. cool ill check online in a minute. here's updated pics. egg crate in, bio balls in, about to drill top plate. also there's their soon to be new home, 5' x 2.5' x 2.5'. already drilled. anyone think my 29gal can filter the bigger tank?
actually my next diy is making a stand for that bad boy. its heavy as hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! while its empty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not a bad pick up for $200 bucks i dont think.
I have to be honest with you hear. I think you could have fit that size bio chamber in a 10g sump. Or maybe I just do not understand what is going on in the middle sections. Also is this design meant to be a dry sump. Cause as of now the minumum water level will be below the bio media. If your baffle was higher it would keep some of the media wet at all times. Right now the only way you will have wet media is if you control the water level and not the sump.
