2ft RTC

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've bought about ten of them over the years. All "unwanted" fish but people still wanted at least $100 for them, private owners as well as LFSs. Some LFSs have them for up to $500. But this is in the eastern US. Where you live, it will obviously be a lot cheaper :)

I have no reason to argue guys. I trust you. Maybe location matters. Maybe my approach needs work. Or, I guess, I may be merely unlucky. I ran a big fish rescue in Rochester NY for 2 years. Out of about 100 fish collected mostly over western and central NY, only 5 were given away free. Sometimes I drove 4, 5, even 6 h one-way to pick up the fish, and that didn't matter to the prior owners.

I'd pay a good amount but 100-200 seems average asking price at that size. The problem is not neccessarily just the housing but the rtc themselves. They are quite good with other fishes as it's tank mates but the biggest catch is only if the fish doesn't fit in the rtc's mouth. a 2ft rtc is less than likely to be making friends with any other fish that will fit in it's mouth and cats around that size are usually loners unless kept with other cats it's size and or fishes bigger than it.

So what's the nature of your question then? Please tell us what's happening: you got a small RTC and want a big one? You already got a 2-footer and want to unload? or something else?

FREE if want it to be continued as a pet, as a food source, its probably 5 bucks a pound for exotic- fish meat.
