took a hike on a section of stream ive never fished before. i caught 3 or 4 small rainbows and browns, all let go to fightr again. got about 2 miles in, very little fishing pressure, missed a nice brown trout about 20 inchs and was beating myself up, cast up stream in s deeper pool with some current moving, hooked up with almost felt like a rock but it swam up towards the surface when i saw the belly and knew it was a large fish then turned sideways and i realized it was a golden trout, 5 mins later without a net i got my fingers in its gills and landed her. 2nd biggest trout ive caught to date, she measured 25 inchs, and was over 6 pounds probably closer to 7. let me tell you a long walk out carrying the heavy fish. wish i had my flyrod with me instead, first time i took my spinning rod out in 2 or 3 weeks.

P.s. my biggest brown is a 28 inch monster brown. weighed in at 9 pounds.

Congrats, that is a great fish. Getting it mounted?

yea i believe so, i didnt clean it, i wrapped in damp newpaper and froze it, hopefully i have some money in the next couple of weeks to mount her.

That would look sweet on your wall. Nice trophy.

That must be a Golden Trout? They stock those in streams back there?!?

Nice catch!

Amazing fish! Are Browns normally that color?

Nice catch man! Only palemino I ever caught was around 23'' near warren pa and its on my wall..lol they are very uncommon around erie pa only stock a couple and they are normally always around 8-9''. So the one and only I have caught I still have.
That brown is also very big but I got ya beat there though my biggest is 32 12 pound jack thanks to good ol lake erie.

Its not a brown at all its a palemino its closer related to the rainbow and it is native to the more western states.
