thank you guys, its my 5 or 6th golden ive caught, but by fdar the biggest, next would be a 19inch one i caught last year on openning day.

he nailed it on the head, its a golden rainbow, which is a color morph of a rainbow that is stocked in PA waters. a golden though is not to be mixed up with a palomino, a palomino is another color morph and is snow white with no pigment at all compared top the golden has yellow and still retains the red strip.

very few goldens are stocked, 3 or 4 in a whole stream if your lucky. normaly stocked in large pools where large crowds appear on oppening day so everyone can see it, and have a chance at catching it on the opening day. Palominos are even more rare, and most say there are less then 10 stocked in the whole state if any.
