Sad to say this but they haven't been working out for me. Started with a group of 5 (+ 1 normal non-burmese), and although they survived Sandy, I've been losing them at a rate of like 1 every 3 weeks.
None of them has shown anything visibly symptomatic. I think they're likely dying because they're very skittish and my (palaudium) tank is fairly shallow with lots of wood and branches and such in it. So when I do water changes I've seen them bash into things freaking out, and I think the injuries are possibly leading to infection.
So, because I don't know for sure that these guys aren't sick, I'll sell off the last two for $25 each. That is 1/5th what I paid for them, and at the time I was getting a good deal.
They're 4-5'' and will eat just about anything I throw in the tank that floats.
After I lost the 3rd one I decided to get rid of these guys because only having 2 is likely to cause aggression issues and, frankly, they're very fast and make it hard to feed the slow turtle living in their tank.
Pick up ONLY, cash ONLY. Lower East Side of Manhattan.
