2x eheim 2080 canisters to much or to little?

I say 1 FX5 and 1 2262

I was thinking that as well having the 2262 for the bio and the fx5 for the mech?!

Howdy,

Eheim is great, but the Pro 3 SUCKS.

I am saying this with three decades of Eheims under my belt, I run nothing else on my tanks. I got a 2080 an gave it multiple honest tries. It now sits decommissioned in my crawl space.

Please search this forum for threads I started on 2080 and you'll see.

I am running two 2262 on my 220 gal, and that'd be more than adequate for your 240 gal as well. I couldn't be happier.

Both have about the same flow, meaning the 2262 will do mech just as fine as the FX5... but that's been covered over and over in this forum.

If the good wife is letting you have that once in a year spending spree I would get 2 Eheims 2262 filters for a tank that size. Or a 2262 and 1 2080 if you really like that particular filter.

About $900, not including the media. I priced it out the other day to compare to 2 FX5's...
