I would get him. I had a peacock bass with the reverse and it was my favorite fish, but got eaten. I posted a picture or a grown jack with e same deformity titled the "ugliest fish ever" or something similar.
His fry will have some gentic deformities, but not much more then a normal batch. This is problaly a recicive trait so the first generation would show it. If you breed two of the offsprings which have this trait that is when the trait will show.
