None taken:) I am not sure about India, but most sellers if not all from overseas that sells fish to US usually don't inject crazy stuffs to make a fertile fish sterile. That's way too much effort for them and they don't really care if we breed here or not. Lots of my friends and many many members on FH forums who bought their males AND/or females overseas and currently breeding the hell outta them:headbang2

Btw, the 99.9% of males brought into India being sterile... where did you get this number and info from? Have you personally tried it? If you just "heard" from people saying this and you go by it, don't take it as a bible. Try to breed the male you got and you might be surprised:D(as long as they are the breeds known to be fertile usually that is such as zz,kml,JK, etc...)

I am not really into breeding or making money off fish(too much effort to grow and no room for frys), but I am looking foward to breed him once or twice in the future so I can have some of his good genes before he gets too old or die.

You are right about the figure. It did hear it from others. What i actually heard is that they sterilize then by medicine even while they are in Fry stage.
Good to know many people around your place have succeeded in breeding.
Unlike here, i have not seen a single successful breed with the imported males.

In any case you must have seen my babies in the earlier post.
They are still too young to breed. Maybe after 6 months or so, i will get a female FH or parrot and try breeding. Lets hope for the best.

I too do not intend to make money out of the breeding. Probably will gift the frys to my friends once they reach a self sustainable size.

I want to breed for money, but not much. I want a MP or two! I get attached to my fish so I a child from any fish that I like before it dies. I have a female SRT for the SRT JP sold me. I do want to breed him, just not at them moment. I love this fish so much, though he doesnt feel the same, that mother lover bit me!!! Any way, when I breed him I will grow out the fry and keep the best looking Male and Female. I will sell the rest. I have so lower quality flowerhorns, I will use these to practice my breeding techniques. So when the time come for me to breed my better fish I can know what Im doing.

Question, are there any flowerhorns that shouldnt be crossed and is changing breeding partners bad? I am asking because if the RD fry you sold me grow to be female I want to cross one of them with Gemini just to see the results. I have all kinds of crazy ideas. Hopefully they will be fruitful.

As far as I know the sterilize pill is a myth;) They will never sterilize a batch of frys that they don't eve know how they might turn out. They might even wanna keep a few themselves for breeding you know? Grow yours out and breed him and I am sure they are fertile:)

Loving man! Can't go wrong there. Take great care of all your FHs. As for breeding, other than breeding that has deformity I don't see why you shouldn't try breeding one with another:D In this hybrid world, it's all about being creative!

Just Awesome bro. I especially like it's head and the orange trailer :O but the shape not so much But i think he will fill in perfectly MP for sure.

Also my theory is with flowerhorns The redder the eye the better chance you have of them being fertile.
