3 AROS WORK BEST?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've got my 2 silver, black and jar in my 280...good so far but still keeping fingers crossed.

Eventually the Jar might show aggression to the silver but you never know he might not. But if you had 3 then they say the aros don't attack eachother because of the odd number in the tank.. Idk how true it is.

Im sure its not because of the odd number. Generally the more the better, from 3+ because arowanas tend to group up as they swim. This causes either a calmer scenario (less stressed) and/or it is harder for 1 aggressor to zero in on another arowana to pick on because they are swimming in this tight group. In other words, its difficult to make heads or tails. Thats my theory on it. :)

I don't it would be off topic if I ask how many silvers can be or rather should be kept together when keeping more than 1 ???
You can keep much as you can as silvers are peaceful community compared to others (provided you give them ample space for free swimming LOL).

At least two:D

Actually even with multiple arowana, there can be aggression or injury issues. It is best if you have the means of seperating if needed.

just throwing in my 2 cents but i've "heard" that most Jars flip out and go on a killing spree at some point during growth?

I just picked up a baby silver, it's about 2.5" i was thinking of going back to pick up two more, they should be fine if they are all raise from the same size right?

how zit hawaiian! what part of hawaii you from? i just got back from visiting my family there. Still raining or when stop? but aros all depends always get chance with den messing eachother up. Not talking from experience i only got 1 16" black aro and never wanted fo chance um...but seeing dem at the lfs here in vegas seen a bunch together looking good and sometimes you see um all buss...like they say in hawaii "if can, can...if no can, no can" how big your tank?

Jardini is the most violent strain of aros. Generally, you can start noticing its aggression once it hits 8" mark.

Some people had success keeping Jardini in a overcrowded aro tank which reduces it aggression (checkout Koji's cheapo tank). Generally jardinis go on a killing spree, killing even the bigger size fish than themselves.
