3 bar IT or ST with IT tail??

Forget those charts. Tail bars are not definitive. Look for the body shape. On that chart it uses the same fish for every species just with different bars. To me, that chart is useless. I have ST's with the indo tail markings and IT's with the pulcher tail marking.

that was pulled straight out of the forum sticky. maybe it needs to be updated. i too have dats that have different markings, but its still a good guide

Tail markings like everything else isn't 100%, but it is something that should be looked at while trying to determine the species.

there are ITs with 3 widebars so if in doubt, look at the 2 bars at the caudal peduncle. if the width of the 2 bars are the same (as seen here), its an IT
