Today is day three for my nats with no food being given to them.

3 Days ago I put my male breeder convict in the tank to "sacrifice" him. So far nothing other then some nipped fins. Now he is beginning to claim a territory and defending it.

I read another post about someone who breeds cons for piranha food also and he said none of the cons get eaten. I hope this isnt true, im determined to just starve them until they do this guy in.

I'll keep everyone updated.

Have you tried giving them any of the smaller fry that you've been raising?

Yeah the little guy was too small they didnt even see him and he hasnt come out of hiding under this log since.

*DISCLAIMER* Liberals beware this is not for girly-man eyes

Day 4 The ripping has begun:
Check the top fin big chunk out. Also he has a piece of lip hanging off but i think this is from trying to get under that drift wood. Hope you guys enjoy!!

When I get them used to the convicts I'll start videos of the killing.

that's probably me. all the convicts you see in the tank were from two breeding pairs.

what size are you piranhas? convicts are fast and if the piranhas aren't that big it can defend itself for a while. if you have hiding spots for it, it's gonna take even longer for your rbps to get a hold of it.
My big male breeder was once bitten by my rhom right at the stomach but managed to free itself (probably I scared the rhom when I showed up in front of the tank before it could made the kill).

So do your guys kill some of those cons or what? My Reds are a little over 4 inches and that con is like 3.3 or so. No hiding spots though I got tired of my reds hiding all day. I got a feeling the kill will happen tonight I'll hit you guys back up tomorrow.

yea, pretty much most of the convicts are gone now. some got eaten by my rhom, some by my caribes.

I am also someone who breeds convicts for feeders and like JP said they have to be fast enough to catch the cons.

You lot are sick.
Bloody yank idiots.
My piranha is 16 years old, and hasent had live food for about 10.
You lot obviously have piranha for 1 reason, to watch it kill.
Sad, pathetic idiots
