Hello Everyone ,

Is it possible to keep a female festae , oscar and a jaguar in one tank with out them killing each other? The tank would be 6ftx2ftx2ft.

Also should I go with gravel or sand?

I have had an African cichlild and marine tank previously just new to big south american fish.

Any other advice would be apprciated.

Thanks in advance :)

J.

I would drop the jaguar idea (from CA) if you want big SA cichlids. A pair of Festae would look great in your tank. I prefer sand too.

I would worry about the oscar. a gt or something that is not too passive

I have never had a green terror that could remotely compete with a festae, drop the oscar, keep the jag, add another big fish that you like and who cares is they are from CA or SA they all do fine together.

I currently have a oscar dominating my 200gal with a jag,gt, salvini. He was picked on a bit when smaller but he soon out grew them all and took over, and i think he remembers being picked on! lol

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone and the great advice, just what i asked for.

I will try out the 3 together and see how it goes i can always give the oscar away to my dad who has just got into fish. he would love an oscar.

photos will be up very soon.

thanks again
