i was at the LFS the other day asking a few questions, and they said that i could put either 3-4 platies or 6 guppies. i cycled the tank and it is ready for fish. i am planning on doing a 1 gallon water change every 3-4 days. my question is can i do 1 of those lists? i was also wondering about a few silver or balloon mollies cause they also suggested those. they told me 1 tsp of salt per gallon so 3 tsps of salt would go in the tank. wut about having 2 balloon mollies and 2 platies (all females?) i dont want the normal betta or invertabrates cause i already have lots of tanks with those. they also said that 6 neon tetras and 1 molly and 1 platy would be ok. id like some suggestions on all of these.
ps: the 3 gallo tank is all im aloud to get. there will be ABSOLUTELY NO UPGRADING. even though i really want to :(

I'd say plant it and go with half a dozen neon tetras. That would look pretty good I think. Could we see a pic of the tank?

i would put up pics but the camera is broken. ill try once the tank is finished though

i was wondering what plants would be okay for it that wouldnt grow to big and take all the space? i could trim alot. what ar some really pretty ones?with the neon tetra would it also be ok to put in 2 smalle female guppies? it was the condition my parents amde that if i wanted the tank then i had to put the 2 female guppies in there because my parents dont want them in the big tank?

Yes, neon tetras would look nice. Also did you think of getting a betta?

Anubias, java fern, and java moss would all do well in a small low lit tank. I'd think half a dozen tetras would be cramped in there in my opinion. Have you thought about maybe a pea puffer?

what about Scarlet badis (dario dario)?
a planted tank with these guys would look cool:D
