3" Gulper eats 8" Leichartdi Arowana, or Gulper thine name is Lucifer

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
damn, good thing I immediately removed my silver aro in the piranha tank, even though the aro is like 17inch or longer, guess size doesn't matter.

if that would have happened to me i would have gone nuts

too bad you lei had to go
but the gulper looks like a cup cake to me when he is sitting on his belly

Sorry for the loss. This is the exact reason why I do not have one. I've had many opportunities to own one, but passed on all of them. Again sorry about the lei :(

That's a tough loss man...sorry to hear about that.

I have two gulpers myself and after hearing some of the stories of what these catfish have eaten I can say that they will be in their species tank FOREVER!!

you must have known this was going to happen EVERYONE knows the gulpers rep thats why people buy them

the gulper looks bigger than 3inch and it had already taken out a 10inch fish

no need for this to be a sticky

still a dam shame :(

Yep I know their rep but trust me I measured him 3" in body wit tail 4". An the first fish he took out was that beautiful Aro. I still think this deserves to be a sticky only because I really didn't think the devil would eat a fish twice his size. An that was a underestimation on my part, but one I think many might make. Plus I think he tagged the Aro cause he was a mid to top water fish unlike my other cats. My Gulpers never scavenge or even go near the bottom of my tank except to rest. Hence all my other cats have been safe from his predation. Like I said I got 2 2" woodcats, and a 2" megalodoras, as well as some other 6" cats that have lived with the Gulper peacefully. Heck one of the reasons I started hand feeding the Gulpers is cause they had trouble eatin feeders, krill an worms(etc.) except from my hand. Even on planetcatfish they say a Gulper should be fine with fish twice it's size but peaceful enough not to hurt the Gulper. An this was what I thought when mixin the two fish. Thanx for the sympathy tho the Aro was beautiful and a great addition to my tank.
