3 Inch Silver Arowana!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
thanks everyone, so happy you all like my girly tank lol! :) My rams colour has been extremly bright the last few days, i did a water change and put slightly cooler water in to see if it would help them to pair off. i have only noticed a colour diffference in the orange and red on them. all beautiful fish, the arowana is doing very well, chomps down pellets like a pro and isnt as timid when i go into the room anymore. he just looks for food lol :p my temp is at 80-82 i turned my heater down cuz it was too warm, i just wanted to make sure they didnt get anything from stress from the move but they are all very healthy! :):grinyes: just wish i had a better camera so i could take better pics of them.

well if one gets eaten then the other 3 will be going in a seperate smaller tank until the silver is sold lol. i am hoping since the aro is small that he might not look at the rams as food when he is a bit larger, since he is on pellets but im also not ignoring the fact it is a predator fish. only time will tell. the aro is getting rehomed at around 8 inches, which im guessing will give me a little over 2 months. will he be large enoug to eat a ram at that size? the rams are full grown at about 2.5 inches.

The plastic neon stuff isnt doing a thing to benefit your tank.

Black background, leave the purple gravel, ditch the neon plants. Your tank will look 10000 times better.

Its too distracting when you have such nice fish in there. Their natural colors are lost against such an unnatural colored environment.

But hey, it's your tank and if you like it then I guess more power to you.

thanks my tank was looking too bare before thats why i put all the crazy plants in, plus i just dont have enough green ones to make it planted enough for the rams, in person if you're looking at the fish in the tank i think it gives them better contrast against the bright colours. and it gives the tank more balance. i personaly love the bright colours it livens the tank up alot and it also doesnt look like the common tank. its just my flare i've added to my hobby :) and plastic is plastic, sure you can dye it green all you want but the fish will know its not real by rubbing against it, they just use it for cover. so the prettier the better :)

What a cute little feller :>
thank you, the aro sure likes being king of the tank! he's quite timid with my angel fish though but not afraid of me at all, i can have my hand in the water next to him and he still eats, couldnt be bothered by me. coolest fish i've had so far :) my plan is to train him to eat out of my hand :)

That should be doable. My sister has a silver aro that she taught to eat out of her hand as well. :) Good luck!
