3 mala wolf's ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The Lacerdae will get huge. At least 20"+. I would love one myself. Would love to see a pic.

The mala's are aggressive territorial fish, Each fish is an individual with it's own personality. It's a risk, You could have fish that don't touch each other, you could have fish that continually fight and damage each other. You could have one that kills the rest.

I have tried many times keeping aggresive fish together usually snakeheads and it very rarely works out as planned. I recently tried to put an 11" Xingu Black wolf in with a Jelly cat in a 180 and I have never seen anything like it. Relentless constant attacks on the Cat from a fish that is normally very nervous and like to hid away.

I guess all I am saying is there is a risk. The choice is yours. I don't like to take the risk anymore. The Lacerdae would appreciate the 180 aswell.

i already have one 180 with exotic turtles that im not going to breed anymore the lacerdae will be put in their with chain or grass pickerels, my malas follow each other all day and i have seen 15'' plus malas cohabimg in a 180gal lacadae's move alot but malas barely move, and that black xingu that you have should have chase that cat because they are just like aimara, they get every little bit of 32''+ and don't allow tankmates:D

Go for it :D

Cool. I really hope it works out for you. I hope you don't think I am trying to put you down or anything like that, I am mearly trying to offer my opinion. I does seem to differ from others.

The Xingu Black does not exceed 16" at the very most and in captivity is unlikely to exceed 13". This is my second Xingu. The first I lost from a tank break, He was much more social and lived in a 180 with the same cat and a couple of other fish, this adds to the fact that each fish is an individual and you won't really know until they get larger and something goes wrong. The large blacks are the Venazuelan Var they are supposed to reach 20"+.

i heard different about the xingu blacks i heard they get up there with aimara, the venezuelan and brazilian lacerdae gets huge mine is from brazil, im getting to prognatus wolves and a xingu black , when i sell my exotic turtles, ima have like 4,000 to spend

The Xingu's are relatively small wolves. They have the personality of the aimara but not the size. If you have the chance grab the Venezuelan Black, much more imposing and personable.

4k fantastic. How come your not looking for an aimara. I am and have for some time been trying to get an aimara. A lacerdae would be nice aswell though. It looks like the next on my list as one has become available will be the Venezuelan Black Wolf.
