Good job bro whay are your plans ? Ebjd in the 37 ?????

Sent from my SPH-L710 using MonsterAquariaNetwork App

My plan as of now is to finish setting up the 20 and enjoy it for about a week before I start the next tank. I'll be setting up the 30 hopefully in about a week and I'm going to save the 37 until Fall since I'm gone every weekend during the summer and someone else has to take care of them.

In the 30 Gallon I'm hoping to do some type of sunfish (maybe a single L. cyanellus). In the 37, I don't really have anything planned yet, since I'll have kept community tropicals, cichlids, catfish, and natives before I set it up I'll probably pick my favorite type after trying each one in a different tank and make the 37 a tank for that. I've actually got an amazing idea for an unusual native aquascape I could do in the 37 that takes advantage of its height, but it's staying a secret until then. I've also considered breeding rarer ancistrus strains or an African Cichlid Tank but I'm taking this one tank at a time for now :D.

Nice work! I to spent the last couple days acquiring more tanks. Picked up 2 20 longs,a 29 tall and a 55 with nice stand. all complete set ups....all free via craigslist also some pretty cool fully grown upside down cats, fully grown bristle nose and some nice size silver dollars.

Hopefully start working on the 30 long tomorrow. First I'm going to sand and varnish the stand to make it look nice and new, varnish smell doesn't hurt fish right? Then I'm going to add in the gravel that came with the 37. There isn't going to be as much since the 37 had less surface area but there was a lot of gravel. Nice thing is it's natural looking, tan, pea gravel. Not that rainbow or blue stuff which IMO is hideous. Hopefully go pick up some nice driftwood at my LFS or maybe even local lake, add some java moss, some nice rocks I found in my creek and a precycled filter then I'm ready to go! Still going to be a while before I get the fish though since I'm going to try to restore an old penguin 200 that came with the 37 and put it on my 75 so it gets some good bacterial growth when I'm ready to add the fish so it's cycled already.

a pumpkinseed would look good in that native tank. the only get about 5in at max. maybe a matdom or two.

Dont worry, there's a thread coming for stocking :). But do you think a p-seed could go in a 30 long for life? I always thought they needed 55 for a single fish and got 8-10 inches. I'd love madtoms but my house gets a bit warm in the summer, another reason to do sunfish and not creek fish (minnows, darters, etc) since the sunfish in my local lake deal with 84-86 F water in the summer! I'm more leaning towards a green for a few reasons: they stay smaller, they're like oscars (or so I've heard), there's more of them than any other sunfish in my local lake, and they're the "bassiest" fish I can keep for a while (:)).

Pumpkinseeds are FOR SURE still an option as well as a few other sunnies, I just want to get some more input first.

Just picked up a 10 Gal for $2 with a filter and hood and another 20 tall with filter and hood for $3 off my friend!!! The 10 is going to be set up at my grandparents as a Mother's Day present but I'm hanging onto the 20. So now I've got three more tanks to set up XD :headbang2
