I like this idea! They might go cheaper! Haha. I even have a small tank, I think its a 20 or 25 gallon. It's not established yet though, should I throw some cheap goldfish in with them to help with water parameters? I would need to get a heater also.

Fill the hospital tank with spring water, add maybe just one teaspoon of some cichlid salt, a dose of Stress Coat, heat to 87 degrees, simple air pump w/ airstone for agitation, 2 small feedings a day, and siphon off solid waste anytime you see it. They just might recover!

you could always seed the filter on the new tank using a little media from an already established/colonized filter. I do this alot when transferring fish in other tanks.
