A friend is selling an oscar about the same size as the two I have in my 125g. Would this tank be suitable to house 3 oscars?

i have a fluval 405, a penguin 350b, and an aqua clear 70, the water is always clean

As said with good filtration and water changes it should be fine but also said above obviously they might not all get along.

Good Luck.

Thanks Darren.

Perhaps I'm the only one here that feels that a single adult oscar requires a 125 gallon tank to itself.

As far as filtration, your filtration is weak at best for 2 adult O's, and no matter how much filtration one has your overall water quality will be mostly dependent on how often you perform water changes, and the size/amount of those water changes. If you plan on keeping three O's in a 125 you better be prepared to become married to your water hose.

I agree with JD. I recall my first 220 gallon tank, wow, it looked huge. I placed 4 oscars in it and man they made that tank look small in a hurry!

they are about 4 inches, I guess I'll hold off on a third oscar until I can get a bigger tank, but as far as filtration I have another 405 I've been planning on setting up soon
