Yesterday morning, my 2 year old female pearl ray delivered 3 pups. I suspect she is pregnant but not sure, since she is only two years old (so is the male - CB pearl pair that I bought as baby). I separated the pups from the parent, and put some black worm inside, but it seems like none of the pulp is eating at all. The mother also stops eating for the last two days . So does the male.
At this time I have increased the rate to drain out more water (with automatic water change) to clean out the water as much as I can.
This is the first time for me to have newborn pup, thus I wonder usually how long it takes before the pup will eat and is it normal for the female to stop eating for a few days or so? and what is up with the male for stopping eating.... Could it be the water getting dirty from the delivery? Thanks for any info you can provide.
