3 RBP's in a 35G Tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
using non bubbly liquid ammonia with no brytex for cycling worked really well for me, my tank was perfectly cycled in a week with a few drops of liquid ammonia daily until ammonia levels spike then reduce drops to half then the nitrite will spike then stop adding liquid ammonia the ammonia and nitrite should level out and to get rid of nitrate at the end do a larger water change make sure u do this with everything in your tank gravel decor and especially your filter running the whole time. You can speed up the process by adding some gravel from your already set up tank into the filter. This will only work efficiently if u have a ammonia nitrite and nitrate test kit or else it is a real pain. This is only one of many options for quickly cycling your fish tank u don't have to go with this.

Just be careful they don't kill eat the pacu. The pacu might outgrow them VERY fast, remember they HUGE (2+ feet).

Yeah, we already took him out. My teacher told me this morning when he walked in and looked at the tank this morning that the Pacu was bossing the Piranhas around, so weird. Our Piranhas are such sissys, Ha.

haha piranhas are not nearly as aggressive as people say. they are actually quite skiddish. they are just carnivorous, and good ones at that.

Yeah they can be little girls sometimes.. it really depends on the personality. I had a 5" red who was the boss of a bunch of bigger reds.. 7"-9"

so you got another p? i agree with the previous post..with piranhas a threesome is the minimum.

Yeah, we got the third one today and we are planning on unpacking it in about an hour, because we have class and can't skip to unpackage them, but as soon he goes in I am hoping that they will all be friends and swim together.

We also got one 1" one, and don't know what to do with it. I know it can't go in the tank with the bigger ones, what would be the smallest tank we could put it in?

Thanks,

Christos

dont bother getting a smaller tank, just buy a bigger one for the 3 P's you already have and this is required coz P's gets very territorial when they grow. even thou they group when their feeding, often times they tend to alone specially the big ones that I had notice in my RBP. Well if you dont still have the budget for a big tank well you can put your 1" in a 20g or more so the growth rate will be fast. :D
