3 Silvers in a tank, whats best? Help Please

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
when you stock your new tank, think about dithers, everybody does tinfoils and silver dollars- Im sure it has to do with the silver color, but I think body shape has a role too, Ive had very good luck on separate occasions with groups of pinktail or redtail chalceus, theyre silver and closer in shape to aros than the others- when they werent chased by the aros, the chalceus would come up behind and try to school with them- that was sure to get the aros attention!

observe and backup is the shortest answer

Thanks everyone.....fish are growing and seem to be fine...definately a dominate aro but it seems a ok. Tank is here, waiting on gavel and a couple other things... here is a sneak peak at the finished tank unfilled. ENJOY!!:D

man, what a setup...really like it already...will be even better looking when the dragons are in!

Three is tough to keep in one tank, as you said you have a dominate one, you will always have a dominate one. I would suggest adding two more. You want an odd number but you don't have enough. I have seven silvers and they get along great. I had tried three many years ago and it got down to one. You can also try adding a target fish like a small koi for distractioncbut big enough they can not eat.
Iv tried 2 in a 180 as young there very aggressive because of there hunger even if u over feed it won't help you , best chance is 5 or more , or try as adult
s iv see. It done only when there 2 1/2 to 3 feet , there not as aggressive , just my experiences!
