Don't release the fish, and get a sponge filter or something on there.

Rock bass are awsome fish. I have 2 in a 550 gallon pond outside. They kind of look like jags with those red eyes. Rock Bass like cold water so keep your fish someplace cool.

DO NOT RELEASE BACK INTO WILD!

If you didn't treat the water and the water where the fish is from is clean, either freeze it and/or eat it.

OR give it away

I dont get it  Its native to Canada, I caught it at a lake, how come I cant release it back to his own habitat? Its not an invasive species..

The water is very clean (as clear as a crystal), it comes from my tropical fish tank :D

beside the first few pic you saw, those water = got it from the lake + some dirt on the ground, while the fish is flopping around :o

I don't know Ontario's laws, but it might be illegal to release wild specimen. It is good fishkeeping ethnic as well.

Good thing you don't live in Alberta; it is illegal to possess a wild-caught native in your collection.

Once you take a fish home from the wild, you must keep it for life. This is not only the only safe way to deal with wild waters but it's also the law.

Recently under act of Law all Michigan scientific permit holders have been told the following...If we do not obey by these rules it is grounds for us to lose our permit and we can be prevented from receiving another by violating them..

1. All collection equipment must be disinfected with a 10% bleach solution at the end of a collection session. This includes all materials that have had contact with water..

2. All live fishes collected and removed from site are to be held indefinitely and when disposed of need to be wrapped up and placed into a permitted landfill if not kept as a voucher and promptly killed and placed in preservative..Water collected with the fish is to be disposed of only in a treated drain line or on lawn or ground 300 feet from any natural water source.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE CAN YOU RELEASE ANY FISH IF TAKEN FROM AND TRANSPORTED AWAY FROM NATURAL WATERS...

Do you get this line of info yet?? Crap is getting a bit serious here due to some serious issues involving this in this region....Naturally us in science get wacked with all sorts of regulations long before general people do as we are easy to control but we are the canary in the coal mine usually for further regulation..Ontario actually is about to put some stiff fines to people not following similar controls and regulations.

It really amazes me that this simple subject is not understood and needs to be rehashed every other week on here....

I can BTW provide anyone that wishes with a PDF scan of this document that has been sent to us here...

OMG! I didnt know about these stuff, I always thought that if it comes from the wild (not invasive species), they can be return to its natural habitat, guess Im wrong.. :irked: Looks like that 50G tank is a MUST buy

will keep you guys updated when I get the new tank in :D
