30 gal for Christmas

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I am about to set up a 30 long myself for Brichardi. They arent oddball fish but something you might like.

Lots of smallish natives or dwarf puffers they might be oddball unusual fish.

Ok well I was thinking of putting the silvertip tetra I have right now into the 30 gal along with something that is suggested, I'm liking the eel idea, the barb tank sounds cool. Any other ideas?

It turns out instead of receiving the 30 gallon I am going to be allowed to buy a 55 gallon. (probly shoulda made a new thread huh?) but anyway now we have to decide what to put in it, same specifications as before but now we have more options I'm assuming :)

I have been pretty much told that I am to receive a 30 gallon tank for Christmas. I was looking for any plausible suggestions of what to put in it. I want to have it planted with a sandy substrate most likely if that helps. I am especially interested in odd ball fish. In general I do not want it to just facilitate the needs of one fish I was hoping to create a community tank or semi aggressive set up but all suggestions are welcome!!

Ahh yes .....The incredible oddbal monster setup, aka Mini Fish Keeper...I would haved to suggest growing out bunches of your favorite plants.....Fill the tank from front to back....Then go out and purchase some mini puffers.....Mini Puffers grow to about 1/2-1/3 of an inch.....By placing 2 female and 1 male guppy in the tank, it will gaurantee endless amusement for you and endless live feed for the puffers......

Possibilities are endless:headbang2:headbang2

So for polypterus which species would work out best you think? and also for the spiny eels which kind are you referring to? like tire track?
