wooden frame

:iagree: Frame it at or just over the original size and set it in :) That could actually turn into something you like much better than what you already have to LOOK at.. Specualting that it is just a tub :)

If you feel risky and have little lose (if water comes out), i would just leave it.
You have to expect the sides to move outwards to some degree.
How bad are they bowing out?

sorry all my ideas are taken for helping you with your problem but would you mind posting a pic i would like to see how the 30gal rubber looks for the severity of bowing plus i thought about making a lil tub pond in my room for my turtle and want to see how yours looks...thanks.

No!! Don't leave it. I use to have two 50gal rubbermaid storage bins in my basement, half full. They bowed out and I left them and then they broke at the bottom and leaked. Luckily I caught it quickly but this could have been pretty bad if I hadn't. Build a wooden frame around it or simply get one of those fabric ropes with the metal tightening latch. The kind they use to tighten boats onto trailors when traveling. I don't know the name of them.
