What kind of canister filter should i get for a 30 gallon long. I would like the canister to be able to handle atleast 60 gallons and would have to be under $100 any suggestions? http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2753158
(seems pretty nice????????)
I also read that when it comes to cleaning it is really hard?

The fish are mbuna and i am just doing it becuase i will use the filter for probaly a 55 in the future but i just really want a canister lol...please help and try to inform me

if you can get that ehiem that you posted for under $100 then i would go with that. But if you can deal with a HOB an AC70 would be more then enough they hold quite a bit of media and have alot of flow for a HOB. I have both the ac70 and that ehiem you posted and they both work great.

Tim, pretty much every question about filters on this forum comes up with the result, "Get an AC___" or "Get a sump."

I have an Eheim 2217 and I absolutely love it. It works wonderfully for me. I think Eheim is a super easy canister to use- simple to set up, and cleaning takes nothing. Pull the stuff out, rinse it, put it back together. And it doesn't need done very often. Sure, changing the cartridge in a HOB is quicker, but that's comparing apples to oranges, isn't it?

I don't think you'd be disappointed with the Eheim.

HOBs aren't as good. They are cheap and easy to maintain though.

The 2217 is more than you need. A 2215 would be perfectly adequate.
A smaller fluval or rena would work as well.

Check ebay, you can probably find a much better deal.

If you are going to upgrade the tank though, just get the larger one now. Eheim 2217, fluval 405, or rena xp3.

Eheim 2215 or 2217 great canisters perfect for that tank.
