ive got oscars convicts and africans and my plants always get ripped up the africans arnt to bad the do dig huge trenches in my rocks though thats why I want to get small fish for a planted tank.
 
Well ya, any cichlids dont do well with live plants.. Oscars, convicts, africans, all of them.. Community fsh do great. ;)

just remember to quarantine your plants in the same way as you would a new fish. Damn plants:irked:
 
lol, yeah, what type of lighting do you have or plan on using?
 
I haqve the same dilemna as you. 30g and not sure what to do with it. Im thinking salt water!

Not any cichlids. GBR and GR's do well, as do Kribs and others.
 
Try and do some fancy plecos. You could go for meat eating plecos (Not like vicious. lol. Like mussles, prawns, blood worms, mysis shrimp, etc.) Some nice ones are L- 66, L-260, L-333, L-400. You could try some L-134, which eat vegetables and some meat. L-134's are beautiful. For mostly vegetable eating plecos, you could try a royal pleco. They grow up to 5" pretty quick, then will grow about 1" per year after that. L-191 will only grow a little under 12".
