My 2 pennies.....
A shoal of Dorado is gonna limit those choices. The choice will be A Dorado eventually.
Now if you had a 45 instead of a 450 then it might work, but with room comes territory-aggression-slow elimination till you end up with your own Hannible (like MFSwets has now) People seem to have better luck 1 Dorado/tank with a good sized tank. I could take a 7pc shoal out of the 40 breeder they were in for months without issue, put them in the 300 and watch them get angry. They'd chase eachother in circles so fast it would make a sand tornado. Back to the 40 and tattered fins and missing scales healed. Back to 300 and same original result.
Very intresting fish, very entertaining. Feeding a Dorado shoal is second to none. But I think to have a successfull shoal they must be JDMed in a small tank, then progressively move them up in tank size as they grow. Tankmates for a Dorado shoal is also pretty tricky. They must have a high tolerance for the Dorado behavior (non stop moving and occasional beatings) for if they confront the Dorado they are quickly put in check. Saw it with the Armatus.
