...You realize that 8x2.5x2 is no different than 8x2x2.5, except the opening is on a different side? Why can't you just turn a 300 wide on its side?

Tall tanks are cool - nicer viewing area but wider is better.

I ran into the same problem in my basement - I wanted the 210 gallon but had to get the 150 gallon (same tank only 18" wide instead of 24" wide) because when you allow room beind the tank for HOB filters, all of a sudden the front edge of your stand is almost 3 feet out from the wall. if there is an adjacent wall and its small (like mine) it screws up seating arrangements and other things in that room...

I have 2 30" tall tanks and I have no issues cleaning them. One is on a standard pine stand and I can reach the bottom without any issues. I have a custom stand on my 150 so it's much higher but it only takes a standard kitchen type stool for me to reach everywhere. Also, python make longer vacuum tubes, you can get a 36" for 15 bucks.

I use a 4 foot step ladder to clean my 150. works well.

I have a 29.5" tall 150. I am only 5'8" and use a step ladder also. I use a python with a fabricated tube that is long enough to reach the bottom. Go with the tall tank, you will not be disappointed

The extra height will add extra volume, which is always good. It "dilutes" waste and just makes it a healthier tank.

unless you want plants. then you need mega lighing.

Even with plants, simple power-compacts work just fine

Thats true as well. I only have 15 hours or so to decide. Lol. I'm kinda leaning on scaling it back down to a 240 though. Its about $300 cheaper, so I can get another 125 gallon tank as well.

You want to swap....I have a GC RR 240 I haven't setup yet (stand arrives tomorrow) and I been 2nd guessing if I should have got the 30" tall tank lol. I already painted the back black for you lol. Have GC pick mine up when they drop yours off and then have them bring you mine and i'll PayPal you the 300 bucks.
