Yes, it may be possible. What are the demensions of the tank? Also you are going to have to find out which direction the floor joist are running.
 
300 gallons of water alone would be 2400 lbs. So I would be a little leary about it. If you do it make sure you put tank where it spans across (perpendicular) the floor joist. An 8' tank covering 6 joist being sure that the each end of the tank falls on the last joist.
I personally would not do it unless I knew for sure what type and size the joist were and I would want to be able to add supports as needed.
 
In my opinion it is an all around bad idea. If it holds right now the constant pressure of the weight and the moving of the floor as you walked across it would eventually lead to failure. It is not a question of the weight also it is about PSI. A ton of weight over 1 sq in has a lot more sheer force than a ton distributed over 1 sq ft. I think it is also a recipe for failure because builders out here build crap homes and try to save in every way possible, that is one of the reasons I got out of construction out here I got sick of the shoddy workmanship on new homes. But that is all just in my opinion.
