None at all, they ignore them. We are keeping them well fed though. Lots of space and the stump has hiding spots all over.

They grow moderately fast. I wouldn't keep them in the basket for too long because they already have sharp teeth and will start biting each other. Personally raised Red belly at that size. You could place one in the aquarium and see if the current will affect the little Piranha.

The Amazon river has a few species of Piranha in it.

6 weeks and they finally look like something, we lost 2 getting sucked down the sump these 20 all look great.

Really growing up nicely!
I’d say the cories have about another two-four months though before the piranhas get interested. Around the 3-4 inch mark I know mine went from peaceful to insane. I was still always able to keep it with a banded leporinus though.

I’ve never kept piranha and seeing how small these guys were when you started a question occurred to me.
Do they have the same mouth full of razors when they are tiny, just in proportion to their size?
